THE WOUND HEALING PROPERTY OF THYME OLEORESIN FROM THYMUS VULGARIS L. ON HACAT KERATINOCYTES

    Get PDF
Objective: The objective of the present study was to evaluate the wound healing property of thyme oleoresin using HaCaT keratinocytes. Methods: The effect of thyme oleoresin on cell migratory activity of HaCaT keratinocytes was investigated and analyzed using scratch assay. The HaCaT cell line was obtained from NCCS Pune and maintained in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Media. The keratinocyte cells (HaCaT) were trypsinized for 30 s and passaged to T25 flasks in complete aseptic environment. The effect of thyme oleoresin on wound closure was determined using a 12-well plate. Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's medium with dimethyl sulfoxide was used as control. The effect of thyme oleoresin on wound closure was determined microscopically at 20├ГтАФ magnification using Nikon microscope. The experiment was performed in triplicate. The wound area was photographed and analyzed. Results: Thyme oleoresin at 25 ├О┬╝g/ml and 50 ├О┬╝g/ml has significantly promoted the migration of HaCaT cells, thereby leading to wound closure. Conclusion: The study has proved the wound healing property of thyme oleoresin, and hence, it may be used for wound healing purpose in a natural way

Multifrequency Eddy Current Clad Thickness Measurement of Thin Aluminum Alloy Combinations Having Similar Conductivities

    Get PDF
Clad materials can offer several performance advantages over unclad materials including better corrosion resistance, increased mechanical wear, improved joining qualities, and enhanced metallurgical properties. Clad materials are used extensively in automotive and building products, aerospace applications, and air conditioning equipment. Clad products pose special production problems due to their unique composition. These products might require clad on one or both sides and, depending on the product, the clad and core alloys come in several combinations. For proper process and quality control, products are required to be sampled to ensure that the clad layer is within a certain tolerance band for maximum and minimum thickness. The eddy current method described here can be employed to make a rapid, nondestructive determination of the clad thickness

A Hardy's Uncertainty Principle Lemma in Weak Commutation Relations of Heisenberg-Lie Algebra

In this article we consider linear operators satisfying a generalized commutation relation of a type of the Heisenberg-Lie algebra. It is proven that a generalized inequality of the Hardy's uncertainty principle lemma follows. Its applications to time operators and abstract Dirac operators are also investigated

Biology of the green mussel, Perna viridis (Linnaeus) cultured in Muttukadu lagoon, Madras

    Get PDF
This paper deals with the biology of the green mussel, Pema viridis (Linnaeus), cultured by pole and bag methods in the Maiiculture Farm of CM. F.R. I., located in the Muttukadu lagoon, near Madras. In the culture system, the mussel showed a growth of 79.8 mm in 11 months. The growth was better in the cultured population than that of the natural bed mussels. The growth was not uniform, but varied with active and slow phases in different months. Spent and spent resorbti ve gonads were predominant among both males and females. Ripe and spawning mussels were foimd in px>d numbers from January to April. Sexes were evenly distributed in the cultured mussels. A significant leature was that, inspite of the occurrence of ripe and spawning mussels, there was scanty settlement of spat, suggesting unfavourable conditions in the area for the establishment of mussel populations

Information exposure from consumer IoT devices: a multidimensional, network-informed measurement approach

    Get PDF
Internet of Things (IoT) devices are increasingly found in everyday homes, providing useful functionality for devices such as TVs, smart speakers, and video doorbells. Along with their benefits come potential privacy risks, since these devices can communicate information about their users to other parties over the Internet. However, understanding these risks in depth and at scale is difficult due to heterogeneity in devices' user interfaces, protocols, and functionality. In this work, we conduct a multidimensional analysis of information exposure from 81 devices located in labs in the US and UK. Through a total of 34,586 rigorous automated and manual controlled experiments, we characterize information exposure in terms of destinations of Internet traffic, whether the contents of communication are protected by encryption, what are the IoT-device interactions that can be inferred from such content, and whether there are unexpected exposures of private and/or sensitive information (e.g., video surreptitiously transmitted by a recording device). We highlight regional differences between these results, potentially due to different privacy regulations in the US and UK. Last, we compare our controlled experiments with data gathered from an in situ user study comprising 36 participants
